Trade School Professions
Some individuals do not think of trade school as a viable option; however, positions that stem from trade school can be just as rewarding or even more rewarding than college options. If you enjoy working with your hands and knowing exactly what to do with your profession, you may like these positions.

Locksmith — someone who works with locks. This could be in a way where they unlock something for you or install a locking mechanism for you.
HVAC Technician — technicians who work with, repair, and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units. They also educate clients about the units they’re installing.
Phlebotomist — someone who draws blood for tests, transfusions, and donations. They inform patients about what the blood sample is for, label vials, and completes upkeep records.
Air traffic controller — airport workers who guide and coordinate approaching and leaving aircraft traffic. They also control the traffic on runways to make sure that planes can lift off and land.
Commercial Diver — these workers take dives in any type of large body of water. They complete welding for oil company, typically, and install structures and repair them, as well. They could also do photography sessions of marine life commercially.
Electrician — they install, maintain, and repair electrical power and everything it controls in a buildings.
Automotive Mechanic — this employee fixes cars, does maintenance, and replaces parts to cars.

Pharmacy Technician — technicians that work in a pharmacy locate, pack, label, and give out prescribed medication to patients. They are reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist. They may also help with administrative tasks like insurance claim processing, tracking inventory, and filing paperwork.
Cardiovascular Technician — they’re medical technicians that complete noninvasive procedures like operating medical equipment. Advanced technicians catheterize patients’ arteries during imaging procedures. They do these invasive tasks under supervision.
Sonographer — a diagnostic medical sonographer uses equipment to do imaging procedures using sound waves to form images of parts of the body, or ultrasounds. They can analyze these images and can be used for doctors to diagnose patients.
Paralegal — these workers are legal assistants who draft legal documents, conduct legal research, organize case files, and prepare for trials by speaking with clients for the lawyer they work under.
Construction Inspector — workers like this inspect buildings to make certain that the construction meets local and national building standards, such as codes, ordinances, zoning regulations, and contract specifications.
Mason — these workers build the foundations for everything, such as floors, dams, roads, and patios, with brick, block, and stone, and concrete.
Welder — people who work this field use welding torches and other equipment to make objects made of metal. They apply heat to metal pieces, melting and fusing them to form a permanent bond.
Camera Operator — the camera operators work with television, video, or film camera to record videos or images for media. These workers compose and frame each shot, apply the technical aspects of light, lenses, film, filters, and camera settings to achieve the effects for the media they are producing.
Elevator Technician — workers in this field either work for companies or for themselves. They install, repair, and maintain elevators and escalators and mechanical walkways.
Mechanical Technician — this is a technician who assists in designing, testing, adjusting, and maintaining engineering machinery and equipment.
Funeral Director — they plan funerals aspects, such as making obituaries and preparing ceremonies. They also schedule the opening and closing of a grave with a representative of the cemetery.
Licensed Practical Nurse — nurses do patient care, such as changing bandages and helping with wounds. It could also be filled with paperwork for patients.
Civil Engineering Technician — these technicians help civil engineers plan, design, and build bridges, highways, utilities, and other infrastructure projects. They can also help with development projects, such as buildings, with the same methods of designing, planning, and building.
Pile Drive Operator — they drive steel, concrete, or wood pile into the Earth during the early stages of construction.
Cosmetologist — these individuals go to trade school to help the hair, skin, and nails. They do cosmetology treatments on them to make them look a bit better for the day.
Massage Therapist — they manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues to help patients feel better.
Iron Worker — they lay out and fabricate structural steel and sheet metal to build structures like bridges, stadiums, and other structural buildings. They weld and cut steel, interpret blueprints, and work with the concrete to reinforce steel bars.

Chef — trained workers who work with food in a kitchen. They purchase food, prepare it, maintain high quality standards, they sanitize and clean, train employees in cooking, and prepare/plate/portion out food correctly.
Wind Turbine Technician — technicians, such as these, try to install and repair wind turbines. This would be to inspect the exterior and physical integrity of wind turbine towers. They climb wind turbines to do all these activities.
Carpenter — a person who makes wooden objects or structures. They build, inspect, and fix structures such as walls, doors, and building frameworks.
Medical Technologist — these medical professionals maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment. They also can perform diagnostic tests and analyze the results.
Web Developer — there are two types of web developers — front-end and back-end. They create functional, user-friendly websites and web applications. They might write code, develop, and test new applications, or monitor site performance and traffic. Front-end developers do user-facing development, whereas back-end developers make the site functional and secure.
Machinist — they are trained professionals who operate machinery and tools, and has the ability to set it up, as well.
Drafter — a drafter is an engineering technician who uses computers or manual drawings or plans for machines, electronics, buildings, infrastructure, and sections.

They also plan the locations of building, roads, and walkways. The location of flowers, shrubs, and trees in these environments are also under their jurisdiction.
Physical Therapist Assistant — physical therapist assistants work under physical therapists and get direction from them. Their supervisors give them guidance to treat patients through exercise, massage, gait/balance training, and therapuetic interventions. They record progress and report it to the physical therapist.
Boilermaker — boilermakers must assemble, install, maintain, and repair boilers. Closed vats and other large containers that hold liquids and gases could be used as well.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant — this medical worker helps clients develop, improve, and maintain everyday abilities, such as teaching them how to move from a bed to a wheelchair, bathing, or getting dressed.
Construction Manager — this type of manager could be self-employed or employed by a employer. If self-employed, they look for clients. If not, they only prepare and follow project budjets, hire and manage staff, ad coordinate with the workers and managers.
Dental Hygienist — they help you with dental care instructions and they can clean your teeth before being met by a dentist.
Respiratory Therapist — helps patients to breathe with medical equipment to work their lungs. They work under the care of a doctor to diagnose disorders with having the patient perform diagnostic tests, analyze blood samples, and then tell them the proper therapy after a diagnoses and educate the individual and the family.
Registered Nurse — they provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about the various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
Database Administrator — the database administrator has to build and maintain database systems and ensure data security in a company.
